I love the feeling of starting a new era. It always reminds me of the beginning of the school year when I was a child: the well-lined notebooks, the sharpened pencils, the clean erasers, and the backpack that still had not accumulated used tissues or unidentifiable lunch scraps. I felt happy and hopeful. As an adult, the same thing continues to happen to me: there are certain moments when I feel more clearly the possibility of starting a project, of growing, of doing things better. And the hopeful moment par excellence is the new year.
